Click here to read “Feed The Monster” Math Fine Motor Worriedness for Kids on Hands On As We Grow®
This monster math worriedness is unconfined for building number recognition and using one-to-one correspondence (counting one item per number) as you feed monsters with stickers!

I have three daughters that alimony me busy.
We have a unconfined time doing activities together.
My gloss had a wham counting to each number as they feed the monsters in this activity!
Kids not ready to count yet?
Try this visual recognition with stickers instead.
Prepping Your Feed the Monster Math Activity
To prep for this activity, first gather up your materials.
Materials Needed:
- large poster paper or a roll of craft paper
- markers
- dot stickers
The yard sale price dot stickers are the perfect size for little fingers.
Draw some silly monsters with a large mouth opening on your poster paper.
You don’t have to be an versifier to create monsters, just make them silly!
Inside each mouth write a number.

Time to Feed the Monsters!
Hand the stickers over to your child.
Encourage them to use the stickers to count their way to a full monster!
Be sure to use numbers that fit your child’s learning level.
Repeat until all the monsters have the matching number of stickers in their mouths.
Feed the Monster Adaptations
If your child doesn’t like monsters or is really into a unrepealable animal, yank those instead.

This worriedness can be extended to include older children as well.
If your child is learning addition, write a number sentence in the monster mouth and feed them the sum!

If your child is younger, like my two-year-old, just leave the mouth blank.
Then cut the stickers into groups that they can count as they match colors instead.
This worriedness was from an idea I saw on Days with Grey.
What simple counting ideas have you tried lately with toddlers and preschoolers?
